BRAVE THE SHAVE

READ ALEX CHARLTON'S STORY

In this day and age our hair is our crowning glory. It’s a representation of who we are.

The term hair loss alone is a scary thought, but nothing prepares you for this becoming a reality.

As if having cancer wasn’t bad enough, which idiot thought it would be funny to throw hair loss in the mix?

For many cancer patients losing your hair can be one of the worst things that can happen to you, it can rob you of your confidence and self-esteem. You fear being judged or labelled by the way you look.

But it's not something to be ashamed of, if anything you should be proud.

It shows just how strong you really are.

If you put hair loss on one scale and extension of life on the other, the latter definitely packs more weight.

I was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma October 2019 at the age of just 23. My whole world was flipped upside down. Hair loss is just one of the many side effects that occurs, and for me that time has come. My hair is falling out to the point its uncomfortable. Therefore I have decided to Brave the Shave to show solidarity for anyone who is, has or known someone whos had to go through cancer.

Family, friends and colleagues have joined me in support to Brave the Shave and help raise as much money for the chosen charities, Teenage Cancer Trust & Cancer Research UK.

Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated.

Together we can make a difference!
